Amman, April 5 (Petra) -- Archbishop Christophoros, the Greek Orthodox Archbishop and Head of the Jordan Churches Council, said on Sunday that Palm Sunday serves as a spiritual call to embrace faith and hope.
Leading celebrations across the kingdom’s Orthodox churches, which follow the Julian calendar, the Archbishop presided over liturgical services and prayers that drew large congregations in a collective display of faith.
"These prayers embody the authentic Christian presence in Jordan and its deep-rooted connection to the homeland and its message of love and peace," Archbishop Christophoros said during the celebrations.
The Archbishop offered prayers for the safety and prosperity of Jordan, its leadership, and its people. He specifically commended the security forces' role in maintaining national stability and protecting the country's security.
He further extended his petitions for broader regional and global stability, calling for an end to hardships and for the prevalence of security and peace across all nations.
Archbishop Christophoros emphasized that Palm Sunday remains a vital occasion to renew religious devotion and reinforce the values of unity and hope while praying for an end to conflict in the region and the world.
